MARRIAGE AND FAMILY ENRICHMENT
Recently, Marriage has become a "hot topic". It seems that everyone has an opinion of what it is and whom it should involve. However, to the Christian believer, the only opinion that should really matter is that of God the Creator.
His sovereign word says in Matthew 19:4-6 (KJV), And He answered and said unto them, "Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female. And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder". God charged them to be fruitful, to increase in number and to manage the earth together thus establishing God-ordained "family" order.

In the Church Marriage or Holy Matrimony is considered a sacred agreement or covenant, not to be entered into lightly but prayerfully, wisely and lovingly. Here at
Mt. Zion New Covenant Baptist Church of Detroit, with oversight from our Presbytery of the Elders and the cooperation of our Ministerial staff, we teach, counsel and promote the Biblical formation, restoration and well-being of our marriage couples.
We believe that the vows or oaths made to each other at their wedding ceremony, are in the presence of God, so they must be based on His Word. By using the truths and principles of the Holy Scriptures to guide us. Our goal is to establish and enrich all
God-ordained marriages. We provide premarital and post marital counseling as well as other nurturing activities.
